A Rockland teen was killed after the car in which he was a passenger crashed on Route 6 Wednesday night. New York State Police say 19 year-old Xavier Egger was the backseat passenger around 10:53pm when the car, driven at what police say was a high rate of speed down Route 6 eastbound, failed to navigate the Long Mountain traffic circle, striking a tree at the center of the circle. Egger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 43 year-old Steffany Egger, and an unidentified 21-year-old man, both Stony Point residents, were extricated from the car. They were both treated at the scene by EMS personnel and later taken to Westchester Medical Center with non- life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. NYSP Seeks Public Help in Greenburgh Hit-and-Run
A hit-and-run in the town of Greenburgh has authorities asking for your help. New York State Police say the incident occurred Wednesday night around 8pm on the Exit 5 deceleration ramp of I-287 East in Greenburgh. They say a pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Police say the victim suffered a traumatic brain injury and is in critical condition.
