More information now on a story we first brought you yesterday. Stony Point police say they’ve arrested a 21 year-old town resident in connection with a fatal shooting over the weekend. Police say Javier Medina Jr, who lives in the home where the shooting took place in Tompkins Cove, was charged with second degree murder. He was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail without bail. Police say it started late Saturday night when they got a call from a woman who said a man had been shot and needed medical attention. Police went to the Mott Farm Road home where they found 47 year-old Jason Colwell of Garnerville had already died from his wounds. Police say the suspect remained on-scene, but when taken to police headquarters requested a lawyer and didn’t say anything to them. A weapon was found at the scene, along with three women who cooperated with police. The investigation into the incident continues.
