March is Brain Injury Awareness month. Ardsley High School senior, Tyler Siden, suffered three concussions over the years playing football, and eventually decided to walk away from the sport to prioritize his health. Tyler spoke out last month about his experience at a Concussion Outreach Prevention & Education seminar with the New York Brain Injury Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association. Tyler says the injury that made him leave the gridiron, came on the first play of a home game during his junior year…
Tyler says most student athletes try to play through the pain and that’s when more damage can be done. To learn more about brain injuries you can visit the Association’s website, https://bianys.org.
