In other COVID news, Rockland Senators Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and James Skoufis, and Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski announced yesterday they have introduced legislation that would require the state Department of Health to open state-run vaccine clinics in Rockland and Orange counties. If passed, the bill would require vaccination centers in any county outside of the city that has a population of over 300,000. Rockland and Orange are the only counties that qualify and don’t have state-run vaccination centers.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost two more to COVID, the total is 889. We’ve got 36 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 1,457 active cases. Our total case count is 38,628, that’s 363 more than Monday.
