New York municipalities got the OK yesterday to open playgrounds and pools. In his coronavirus press briefing yesterday governor Andrew Cuomo said he’s leaving the decision-making on this one up to local governments…
Cuomo stressed it is not time to let our guard down even as the state gradually re-opens, pointing out 21 other states opened too soon and now they are seeing spikes in the number of COVID cases. COVID-19 by the numbers now, the state has confirmed around 381,000 total cases in the state and more than 24,400 deaths. In Rockland, the state says we’ve got 13,385 reported cases, and the Rockland Health Department confirms 661 fatalities here in the county.
