A 23-year-old Bergen County man is in NYPD custody after allegedly fatally shooting his roommate Monday night. Milan Ghimire reportedly fled the scene of his Mahwah apartment, but his cell phone was tracked through Rockland and eventually he was caught in the Bronx on Tuesday, according to Bergen County’s’ prosecutor. Published reports say Ghimire faces murder and weapons charges, among others, in Superior Court in Hackensack for the shooting death of his roommate and co-worker, 56-year-old Phu Tsewang.
O&R Looks to Upgrade Sparkill Substation
Orange and Rockland Utilities is looking to use new technologies rather than spend multi-millions of dollars to upgrade an older substation in Orangetown. O&R spokesman Mike Donovan says the company is looking for proposals to provide solutions that might use solar panels, fuel cells, or batteries to relieve the peak electric demand on the company’s Sparkill substation and increase the reliability of its electric service…

Clarkstown Moves Fireworks Show to Thursday, “Amish Outlaws” to Perform Concert Wednesday Night Indoors

Children’s activities will start at 6PM followed by the Rockland County Radio Control Club flying demonstration at 7:15 PM. A concert featuring “Chris Bolger and the Red Shoes” starts around 8:00 PM and the fireworks will follow. The “Amish Outlaws,” who were supposed to be the featured Fireworks show performer, will be playing indoors tonight at 7:30 at the Clarkstown South High School Auditorium.
