A Pearl River man will have to face trial after actor Alec Baldwin’s defamation claims against him stemming from an argument over a parking spot can go forward. The New York Post reported Baldwin claims 52 year-old Wojciech Cieszkowski lied and defamed him when he claimed Baldwin punched him in the face during the dust-up outside Baldwin’s East 10th Street apartment almost 2½ years ago.
Haverstraw’s American Flag Flies Again
Haverstraw’s large American flag is flying again over Town Hall. Supervisor Howard Phillips says the flag had to come down so that cell phone companies could use the flagpole to boost their signals, but the removal of Old Glory was only temporary…
Phillips says each cell phone carrier pays the town about 24-grand a year to be on the pole.
NYS Police: Fatal Accident Snarls Traffic on NYS Thruway in Airmont
New York State Police are investigating a fatal accident on the Thruway early this morning. An overturned tractor trailer jammed up traffic on the northbound Thruway just before the Airmont Road exit. Gravel and fuel were spilled on to the roadway so that was being cleaned up.
Spring Valley’s MLK Center Hosts Vaccination Clinic
The Rockland County Department of Health hosted its first community vaccination clinic at the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center in Spring Valley yesterday. The village ranks second-to-last in the number of residents in the county by percentage who have received their first dose, and Spring Valley NAACP President Willie Trotman says many village seniors simply aren’t tech-savvy enough to work through the system…

Rockland County Executive Ed Day says despite the success the health department has had with its efforts at the Health Complex and the Fire Training Center in Pomona, the county still needs its own state-run facility…
Day says if the county were to get a state facility it would likely be located at RCC.
