Keep an eye out for “NY PopsUp” – a festival featuring hundreds of pop-up performances, designed to jump-start the state’s stagnant entertainment industry. New York governor Andrew Cuomo says the Festival will feature 300 performances across the state…

WRCR’s Market Analyst Ken Mahoney of Mahoney Asset Management in Chestnut Ridge is also a Tony award-winning Broadway producer, and says the pop-up performances could help people remember what they’ve been missing…

Many of the performances in this pilot program will be free of charge.

The makeup of the East Ramapo School Board is a little different after its first ward-based election took place earlier this month. The ballots have all been counted, and according to the unofficial results, the nine wards will now be represented as follows:

Ward 2 – Sabrina Charles-Pierre
Ward 3 – Sherry McGill
Ward 4 – Shimon Rose
Ward 5 – Yossi Weiss

The Clerk in the Village of Pomona has reportedly resigned, but it has nothing to do with a criminal charge by the Ramapo Police that she secretly taped an executive session meeting. That’s according to the Journal News, which reports Lisa Thorsen’s attorney says she stepped down due to conflicts with village trustees.

The Stony Point Seals’ 2021 Plunge, which would have been held last Sunday, was cancelled due to the pandemic. Instead, they planned to hold a “Polar Parade” for four year-old town resident Oscar Beckman, but that was scrubbed because of last week’s snowstorm. So Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan says the Seals will hold the parade for Oscar this Sunday…

The “Polar Parade” will feature fire engines, police cars, EMS vehicles, the NAM Knights, and anyone else who wants to join in the parade is welcome.
