Day says seniors who are having trouble navigating the state’s website can get help from the Rockland County Office for the Aging. Call them at 845-364-2110. Be patient when you call, as lots of people have been asking for help. The medical transportation program can also get you a taxi to your appointment, if you can get one. Call 845-364-2733 if you need help or would like to volunteer for that program.

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost two more to COVID, the total is 819. We’ve got 91 hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 2,477 active cases. Our total case count is 32,407, that’s 270 more than Thursday.

Two area state lawmakers have introduced legislation to let any Rockland school district create wards for the purposes of school board elections. Rockland state senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick says the bill would give school districts the right to decide if a ward system is right them…

Rockland state representative Ken Zebrowski introduced the bill in the Assembly. The East Ramapo school district is slated to hold a ward-based school board election on February 2nd. A federal judge decided East Ramapo’s original at-large voting method violated the Voting Rights Act of 1965. For more information about next month’s vote, click here.

The Stony Point Police Department is hosting a New York State Police Reform and Reinvention Collaboration meeting tonight.
