Macy’s says they will close some 45 department stores by the middle of this year, that according to CNBC. It’s part of a plan announced last February to shut 125 locations by 2023. The location at the Galleria in White Plains was listed among those being closed in this latest announcement.

Those who got their shots yesterday will need a second shot in four weeks. Dr. Ruppert also stresses we still need to do the basics, wear masks, wash hands, do social distancing, and avoid large social gatherings.
New COVID Strain Forces Ramapo to Temporarily Shut Community Center
COVID-19 has forced the town of Ramapo to close their recreational facilities out of concern for the new highly-contagious new strain that’s made its way to New York from the UK. Supervisor Michael Specht says they’re temporarily shutting down the Joseph T. St. Lawrence community center and other facilities that had already been operating on a limited basis. Specht says they’ll re-open the facilities when it is safe to do so.
Area Lawmaker Concerned with “Missteps and Ineffectiveness” of COVID Vaccine Roll-out; Rockland Loses Another to Coronavirus
An area state lawmaker says he doesn’t have much confidence in the state’s slow pace at getting the vaccine to nursing homes. In a statement, Stony Point and Orange County Assemblyman Colin Schmitt said the current state-level distribution process has been “marred with missteps and ineffectiveness.” Governor Andrew Cuomo said the feds were in charge of the nursing home program, which he said the state is taking over to move it along faster, and he said the hospitals need to step it up as well…

COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, we lost one more to COVID, the total count stands at 780. We’ve got two hospitalized being examined, another 91 there are confirmed cases, and a total of 2,481 active cases. Overall, we’ve had 28,568 reported cases, 233 more than Tuesday.
South Nyack Residents Get Car Back Same Day it Was Stolen from Driveway
The South Nyack owners of an Audi A4 got their car stolen and returned within hours yesterday. The car was reported stolen Tuesday morning at 9:45, after it was taken sometime overnight from the driveway of a home on Glen Byron Avenue. South Nyack-Grand View Police chief Daniel Wilson says whoever took it didn’t have to work too hard to get the car…
Though the car was found in Jersey City yesterday afternoon and returned to the owner, a suspect has not been apprehended. The police investigation is continuing.
