A port-a-potty company that wore out its welcome in West Haverstraw has set up in Ramapo. But residents and officials there are looking to see if the portable toilets from John-To-Go can be flushed out of the old firehouse on North Main Street in Hillcrest, where they have reportedly been operating illegally for months. Supervisor Michael Specht says the town’s inspectors keep issuing summonses, because the company doesn’t have the right permits, but there’s been little movement, so they’re all due to meet in court for a pre-trial conference next month…
The company had previously been located in West Haverstraw. Neighbors there complained for years, until the company’s lease ran out earlier this year. They did not return an email seeking comment.
