Rockland Lawmakers Await AG’s Investigations into Governor
Still no ETA on when the New York Attorney General’s investigations into the governor might be completed. It’s been months since the investigations were launched into sexual harassment claims against the governor and whether he misused public resources to support his book on the pandemic, and Rockland assemblyman Mike Lawler says the people have a right to know what happened…
The governor has denied the allegations. He’s also been accused of mishandling data on COVID nursing home deaths.
Rockland Suffers First COVID Fatality in Two Weeks
Rockland has its first COVID-related fatality in two weeks. Our total is now 964. Two pop-up vaccination sites are coming to two county villages this week. You can get the Pfizer vaccine tomorrow from 9-5 at the Spring Valley Medical Center on Perlman Drive or the Moderna shot on Friday at the Nyack Health Center on Highland Drive from 9-1. In other COVID news, no one from Rockland won the third round of the ‘Get A Shot to Make Your Future’ lottery incentive for a full scholarship to a SUNY or CUNY school. No one from Rockland has won that thus far.
Boy Scouts of America Greater Hudson Valley Council Puts Three Properties up For Sale
The Boy Scouts of America Greater Hudson Valley Council has listed three area camp properties for sale, including one in Rockland. Camp Bullowa in Stony Point, Durland Scout Reservation in Putnam Valley, Putnam County, and Camp Nooteming in Salt Point in Dutchess County have a combined total of nearly 2,000 acres of property. The council says sales have not yet been finalized and operations will continue in those locations this summer. In a statement to WRCR, Greater Hudson Valley Council Scout Executive and CEO Richard Stockton said the move was necessary so that the council could equitably compensate survivors of past abuse in Scouting and ensure that Scouting continues across the country for generations to come.
New York Boulders Lose to the New Jersey Jackals, 6-3
