A one year-old Spring Valley boy is dead and his mother faces a felony charge after he was found wedged between a bed and a wall and just his six-year-old sibling watching him. Spring Valley Police say the unidentified 36 year-old woman was arrested Saturday and charged with Manslaughter. Around 8:40 Saturday night police and fire officials responded to 101 Kennedy Drive after the one-year-old became trapped between a bed and the wall and was unresponsive. Life-saving measures were performed, and he was taken to Nyack Hospital where he later died.
NY Boulders Weekend Round-up: One Win, One Loss, One Rainout
The New York Boulders lost to the New Jersey Jackals on Friday, 10-6. Saturday’s contest was rained out, but New York bounced back Sunday, scattering 21 hits, four of them home runs, winning 18-10. The Boulders have today off.
Boulders pitcher Brian Rapp is moving on to the Toronto Blue Jays. He’s been assigned to their High-Class A affiliate in Vancouver. In four starts this season the 25 year-old worked 20 innings, struck out 23 and walked eight.
Ulster County Man Dies at Nyack Hospital Following Accident in Montvale
An Ulster County man died at Nyack Hospital after being struck in a hit-and-run on the Garden State Parkway in Montvale Thursday. Published reports say 77 year-old Howard Perlman was driving northbound in the left lane and was struck by another car in the right lane. Perlman’s car went off the road and hit several trees, while the other driver reportedly fled the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
Fallen Spring Valley Firefighter Honored by County with Award of Valor
The Spring Valley volunteer firefighter killed in March battling a blaze at an adult care facility in the village was honored this weekend.
