The first of three Clarkstown pools is now open, the Congers pool opened for weekends only, for now. But Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says they still need more lifeguards…
To be a lifeguard in Clarkstown call the Recreation & Parks department at 845-639-6200 or supervisor Hoehmann’s office at 639-2050. Germonds pool will open this coming weekend, and the following weekend Lake Nanuet will open.

One of the newest Miners is former Met and Yankee Todd Frazier. He’s a two-time MLB All-Star and an MLB Home Run Derby champ. The third baseman is expected to be with the Sussex County Miners and playing against the Boulders Wednesday night. After being released last month from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Frazier hooked up with Team USA and Boulders VP Seth Cantor says he’s using his stay with the Miners to tune up for the Olympics next month in Japan…

We’re closing in on the governor’s 70 percent threshold for most COVID restrictions to be lifted completely. Around 69.7 percent of all New Yorkers have gotten at least one shot, though Rockland does lag in that category, with only 49 percent of the county’s total population now vaccinated. However, Day says active COVID cases have steadily declined since mid-March.
