RCC’s longest-serving president has died. Lohud.com reports Seymour Eskow served for about two decades starting in 1963. The Academic II classroom building, the library and fieldhouse were added during his tenure. He was 95.
East Ramapo School District to be Discussed at RCC Event Tonight
The group “Rockland Clergy for Social Justice” is hosting a meeting tonight at RCC and they’ll be reviewing the East Ramapo school district and its progress over the last five years. The meeting will feature members of the Assembly, Senate and legislature, community leaders, clergy and congregants discussing how the state-appointed monitor and the board of Education have been doing for the last half-decade. The meeting is being held tonight at the RCC Technology Center Ellipse at 6:30.

You may have seen some construction activity at the intersection of Rosman Road and Route 202 near the Shop Rite Shopping Center. Phillips says that’s a state sidewalk upgrade project. The state won’t be doing a full re-paving of Route 202 yet. Phillips says that could get done next spring.
Lawyer: New City Man Won’t Talk to Grand Jury in Hot Car Case
The New City man whose 1-year-old twins died in July in an overheated car while he was at work was in a Bronx courtroom again yesterday. The second-degree manslaughter case against 39 year-old Juan Rodriguez is still pending, but published reports said he won’t be talking to the grand jury. His attorney wants the case dismissed, stating it was a horrific, horrible accident. Rodriguez has claimed he thought he had dropped the twins off at day care before going to work at the Bronx VA hospital. He’ll be back in court December 5th.
