New York State Police patrols are being beefed up in Jewish communities during the holiday weekend. Governor Andrew Cuomo says this comes in the wake of a number of anti-Semitic attacks recently in our area and around the country…
Anti-semitic attacks have been reported recently in Times Square, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Tucson – Arizona, and a Jewish family from New Jersey was reportedly attacked while vacationing in Florida.

The CDC says nearly 18 percent of adults 18 and older are hesitant to get the vaccine.
COVID-19 by the numbers now, here in Rockland, no new deaths, the total unchanged since last Monday at 957. We’ve got five hospitalized confirmed with coronavirus, and 198 active cases. Our total case count is 46,821, that’s 12 more than Thursday.

It’s that time of year again…the turtles are returning to Orangetown! It’s birthing season for the turtles at the SUEZ-New York-owned Tappan Watershed in Blauvelt. For the next six weeks they’ll cross busy Western Highway near the border with Clarkstown to give birth, sometimes not as successfully as they would like. Many volunteers are out there to help keep the turtles safe during their journey. SUEZ-New York’s Director of External Affairs Bill Madden says the company’s been helping keep the turtles safe for the last few years…
SUEZ-New York’s Senior Conservation Program Specialist Chelsea Wulff urges drivers in the area to take it slow, since every turtle that doesn’t make it damages their population…

New York Boulders baseball kicked off last night, it was opening night in Pomona with the Boulders making their premiere in the Frontier League. The Boulders’ Zach Kirtley was at the plate with Milton Smith in scoring position on second, the Boulders down a run…Seth Cantor had the call…

It’s been two months since the fatal fire at the Evergreen Court Home for Adults in Spring Valley that killed one resident and volunteer firefighter Jared Lloyd, and the cause of the blaze is still being determined. Rockland Sheriff Lou Falco says it’s a painstaking process…
Falco says every detail is being carefully analyzed and when the report is done, it’ll be released. Several agencies from the county, state and federal level are working on the case.
Meanwhile, a local fundraising organization is holding a virtual BINGO event to help support the family of firefighter Jared Lloyd, who was killed in the fire that destroyed the Evergreen Court Home for Adults in Spring Valley in March. Anne Marie Porco of “The Charity Chics” says she and partner Wendy Torrano, who both come from firefighter families, are hosting a virtual Father’s Day Bingo event online to raise money for his fund via his fire house, Columbian Fire Engine Company #1……
