Just a day after an Orangeburg investment broker and former Rockland GOP official was sentenced to 13 years in prison and ordered to pay over $8 million in restitution for running a Ponzi scheme for 25 years, his daughter was indicted for helping him do it. The Journal News says 77 year-old Hector May’s 54 year-old daughter, Vania May Bell of Montvale, New Jersey, faces one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of wire fraud. She was the comptroller of her father’s New City-based company, Executive Compensation Planners. She faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for each count. May was taken into custody on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in December to wire and investment adviser fraud.
RC Legislator Looks to Improve Parking for Handicapped in County
The Legislature’s minority leader is looking to meet with area officials and town leaders to see if more parking lots around the county need to be brought up to the standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Lon Hofstein says spots in some lots aren’t wide enough to handle vehicles that need extra ramp space on the side to accommodate wheelchairs…
Hofstein is hopeful to get a symposium on the issue held next week.
Tesla Supercharger Station Added to Parking Lot at Palisades Center
Palisades Center in West Nyack now has a Tesla Supercharger station that can serve up to 20 drivers at the same time. General Manager of Palisades Center, Darrin Houseman says having the chargers at the mall make it convenient for Tesla users to take a break and charge their cars at the same time…
