The former owner of a Rockland bus company found guilty of federal bribery and corruption charges is appealing his conviction. 52 year-old Richard Brega got 50 months in prison in December following a three-week trial. Berga wants a new trial, claiming he was convicted on insufficient evidence. US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman says Brega falsely claimed he was maintaining Rockland BOCES buses and bribed a BOCES employee to approve phony invoices.

American Dream Mall Sets Opening Date – Again – for October 25th
The American Dream Mall by the Meadowlands in New Jersey has yet another targeted opening date. It’s now scheduled to open October 25th. There will be an 8-acre DreamWorks Waterpark, a Big SNOW Ski and Snowboard Park, an Angry Birds-themed 18-hole miniature golf course, an aquarium and more. Retailers include Barneys, Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, and Dolce & Gabbana. Bergen County’s Blue Laws will keep stores closed on Sundays but everything else will be open 7-days a week.
