A former Nanuet School District teacher who accused a former High School
principal of rape and sexual harassment has reached a settlement with the
district. In exchange she’s dropped a one million dollar lawsuit against
them. The Journal News says she’ll collect her salary and continue to get
other benefits through 2022. Former principal Vincent Carella has denied
the teacher’s accusations.
Rockland County Legislature Special Committee on Transit Meeting Tonight in New City
The Rockland County Legislature’s Special Committee on Transit meeting is
being held tonight. It’ll feature presentations by the New York Bridge
Authority, Coach USA and Hudson Link. They’re expected to focus on issues
affecting area commuters, including the Lower Hudson Transit Link project
which is designed to improve traffic in Rockland and Westchester. It is
open to the public, and that’s tonight at 7 at the county offices in New
City.

Haverstraw Man Lands on FBI “Most Wanted” List
Haverstraw Police say the FBI has added a Stony Point man to their Ten Most Wanted list. Eugene Palmer is wanted in the September 2012 shooting death of Tammy Palmer, his daughter-in-law. Palmer, who would be 80 years old now, is believed to be alive and living under an alias. The FBI said at a news conference today they believe Palmer — considered armed and dangerous – could be living in upstate New York, Florida or possibly in another country. The FBI’s reward for Palmer is now at $100,000. Palmer’s sons have said their father likely died in the woods of Harriman State Park.
West Nyack Man Found Dead at Clarkstown High School Jogging Track
Clarkstown Police say a 50 year-old West Nyack man was found dead at the track at Clarkstown High School South Sunday morning. Police were called around 1 AM by the unidentified man’s wife. He had left their home at 8:30 Saturday night to jog around the track. Clarkstown patrol units found the man unresponsive, on the side of the track. Rockland Paramedics pronounced the man deceased. The man’s body was taken by the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation into this incident is ongoing but police say nothing at this point reveals any signs of foul play.
