Ramapo Police are investigating reports of shots fired into the air near Church Road and Smith Hill Road yesterday afternoon. Police say the shooter fled the scene in a black, four-door vehicle. There were no reported injuries.

Clarkstown Student Charged in Fatal New City Crash Released From Jail on Bail
The 18 year-old Clarkstown North High School senior charged in connection with last week’s fatal car crash in New City has been released on bail. That’s according to the Clarkstown Police Department. 18 year-old Alan Mendoza faces DWI, aggravated vehicular homicide, and other charges. Orangetown Leaning Toward Opting Out of Marijuana Sales

Since it is legal to smoke pot in public in New York, people would be able to buy marijuana in neighboring towns and then smoke it wherever smoking is allowed. The towns that allow sales would be the ones that benefit financially. Kenny says a local law will be voted on at a future meeting.
