NJ Delays Vote on Pot, CT Takes Steps Towards Passage, NY in Holding Pattern
OK, everybody inhale slowly, then exhale slowly…a vote on legalized weed in New Jersey has been delayed. The Associated Press reports the New Jersey legislature abandoned voting on a bill yesterday that would have legalized recreational marijuana after the president of the state Senate said there weren’t enough votes to pass the bill. It was not immediately clear when the state legislature might take up the bill again. Meanwhile, Connecticut took a step closer to legalizing pot. A Legislative committee passed a bill by a 10-8 vote. It next needs approval in both houses of the legislature.
Clarkstown to Ask State to Improve Road Conditions
It’s been a rough winter on Rockland roadways but at least one town is tired of taking the blame for state roads that are crumbling. Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says at tonight’s town board meeting he expects to pass resolutions asking the state to do traffic safety studies and authorize capital improvement projects for Routes 304, 303, 59 and 9W…
The meeting is being held tonight at town hall in the auditorium at 7pm.
