New York State’s budget is due in less than three weeks and it may not pass on time. Rockland Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski told “The Morning Show” yesterday funding for pre-Kindergarten in school districts outside the city and congestion pricing are big sticking points…

Some feel congestion pricing model on those who go into downtown Manhattan is necessary to fund the MTA and ease gridlock. Mayor Bill DeBlasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo are among congestion pricing’s big supporters. Cuomo says he won’t sign a budget that doesn’t have a congestion pricing or toll plan…

Cuomo says also won’t sign the budget without a permanent property tax cap, criminal justice system reform, and ethics reform.

A federal judge yesterday said Rockland County’s “unprecedented measles outbreak” is enough to keep unvaccinated kids out of class at the Green Meadow Waldorf School in Chestnut Ridge. The judge reportedly said the parents of 44 students at Green Meadow did not show public interest would benefit by stopping the Rockland Health Department’s order to keep unvaccinated students home. Green Meadow’s Director of Communications Vicki Larson said the school was not involved in the legal action and has been working with the Health Department since the beginning …

Rockland County Attorney Thomas Humbach said the county’s first priority is to protect the public health. The measles count , by the way, is now up to 145 confirmed cases with three more suspected cases.

A New Hempstead Jewish girls’ religious school is appealing Clarkstown’s rejection of their request to set up a 400-student school in Nanuet at the Grace Baptist Church. The school’s permit application was denied in January. The property had not been used as a school in more than 20 years.

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council is holding its first Community Planning Workshop tonight on the future of the nearly 5 mile stretch of Route 59 from Airmont Road to South Pascack Road by the Spring Valley Marketplace. Ali Mohseni is the project’s manager, and says area residents can help improve the area by providing their input…

A retailer of organically-grown pain and anti-stress natural supplements derived from hemp plants has opened its first retail outlet, and it’s here in Rockland. Palm Organix opened late last month at Palisades Center. Their product line is made from what is known as CBD, or cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive chemical compound found in marijuana and hemp. Alex Herrera is the company’s founder, and says all his products, are pesticide and gluten-free, non-GMO, Kosher, and won’t get you stoned…
