Palisades Center is partnering with the Rockland Works Career Center with a Job Fair tomorrow to help Rockland County businesses find people to fill open positions. Many mall stores could use more hands on-deck, as Palisades Center GM Darrin Houseman says, business is doing better…

The Rockland Works Career Center is the county’s free employment and training resource, supporting both employment and training needs of job seekers and the staffing needs of local employers. It’s located at the BOCES Educational Resource Center in Nyack. The Job Fair is being held at Palisades Center tomorrow afternoon from 3-6PM in the East Court on Level One near H&M. NY Boulders Drop Two to Sussex County Over Weekend, Avoid Sweep

In Frontier League baseball…the New York Boulders played the third of a three-game series against Sussex County yesterday in Pomona, looking to take the series from the Miners. The Boulders were down late but started a rally in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, and outfielder Jack Sundberg at the plate with a full count…

And that was Jacob Kronberg with the call on the Boulders Radio Network. The Boulders lost, 5-2. Earlier in the day the two teams completed Saturday’s rain-postponed event, the Miners won that one, 8-4. The Boulders won Friday’s contest, 8-3. The Boulders are off today.

Former Chief of South Nyack-Grand View Police Department Dies

The former Chief of the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department died Wednesday. That’s according to The Journal News. Chief Alan Colsey, who chased down and helped arrest three suspects in the 1981 Brinks case, served the department for 31 years until June 2004. Funeral arrangements are pending. He was 69.

Stony Point Opts Out of Pot Sales

Stony Point has decided to bail out of pot sales, now that it’s legal in New York state. One of the problems, says Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan, is that the state has yet to set up the Cannabis Control Board or provide the guidelines governing marijuana sales…

Last month Orangetown was the first Rockland municipality to opt out of marijuana sales. New York was the 15th state to legalize marijuana for recreational use.

Report: NY Governor to be Questioned in NY AG’s Sexual Harassment Inquiry

New York governor Andrew Cuomo may be questioned tomorrow in the sexual harassment inquiry by the State Attorney General. That’s according to the New York Times. When we spoke with two state lawmakers a few weeks ago, Rockland State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick said the A.G. has been hush-hush about the investigation…

And that was Rockland Assemblyman Mike Lawler. The Times suggests this could be a sign the four-month-long investigation is wrapping up.
