Two were shot on Friday in Monsey, a 17 year-old has died of his injuries, another unidentified man is in critical condition. The Journal News says police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the Regency Village Apartments near 34 Monsey Boulevard Friday afternoon around 3:15. Spring Valley police found one of the victims nearby at 1 Fletcher Road. Both reportedly had multiple gunshot wounds. They were taken to Westchester Medical Center. Clarkstown Police Searching for Missing 8 year-old Boy
Clarkstown police are asking for your help in finding an 8 year-old boy, reported missing since last Monday. Police say Ezekial Wilson-Quarles was reported missing by his legal guardian, Beatrice Wilson. He is believed to be with his biological mother, Regina Wilson, who had lost custodial rights of the boy, who hasn’t been in school all week. NYS Launches Excelsior Pass for COVID Proof, Death Count in Rockland Holds Steady
New York State has launched a digital pass that can be downloaded to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. The Excelsior Pass will be accepted at major entertainment venues like Madison Square Garden, and can be used by smaller arenas, at wedding receptions, catered events, and more. It works like any other mobile pass, using a secure QR code on a smartphone or printed on paper.

GoFundMe for Fallen Spring Valley Firefighter Nears Half-Million Dollar Goal
A GoFundMe page set up Wednesday evening for the family of fallen firefighter Jared Lloyd, a 15-year veteran of the Spring Valley’s Columbians Fire Engine Co. No. 1, is now just about $73,000 shy of its half-million dollar goal, as area media speculate as to the cause of the fatal blaze. The town of Orangetown and other locations are serving as drop-off points for new clothing and toiletries for displaced seniors from the Evergreen Court Home for Adults. Rockland Assembly representatives Ken Zebrowski and Mike Lawler, along with state senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick have opened their offices as collection points for those displaced by the fire. In addition to their offices, you can bring items to town halls in Ramapo and Clarkstown, Village halls in Spring Valley, Suffern and Nyack, or to the MLK Center in Spring Valley. Meanwhile, there have been several published reports that say an automatic alarm system at Evergreen was not connected to the county’s central dispatch at the time the fire broke out. Rockland County Director of Fire and Emergency Services Chris Kear urges everyone to wait for the investigation to be completed and issue a final report.

Rockland still has no state-run vaccination facility, but a Nyack Church is hosting a pop-up site tomorrow. Don’t bother trying to get in at the Grace Episcopal Church on First Street though, they’re already booked solid.
