New York’s plastic bag ban has now been in effect about six months. It got started last spring, but when COVID started the ban was temporarily shelved. It went into effect permanently in October, but some stores in our area are apparently not taking them back as they should be. Phillips says if you come across a store that should be taking the bags back, call your local town hall and let them know.
