$8 million in federal funding is going towards pedestrian safety improvements and to support infrastructure projects in the Town of Ramapo. Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the 17th District says pedestrians in parts of Ramapo have been at greater risk of injury, and the funds will assist more than a half-dozen projects in various parts of town. In a statement, Wesley Hills Mayor Marshall Katz said the federal money will speed up several sidewalk projects, a major help for a pedestrian population, particularly on the weekends and on holidays.
