A Monsey man was reportedly killed in yesterday’s small plane crash on Interstate 684 in Westchester. News 12 reports 32-year-old Yakov Friedman died when the single-engine Tecnam P-2008 crashed around 6:35 last night in Harrison near the Connecticut border. Another person was reportedly injured, but it’s not clear if Friedman was piloting the plane, which had reportedly taken off from Linden, New Jersey. The pilot is believed to have radioed he was having engine trouble and was attempting to land at Westchester County Airport. The NTSB urges witnesses to the crash to contact them by email: witness@ntsb.gov.

Rockland’s Congressman has little faith in New York City’s D-A, and wants him out. Mike Lawler of the Hudson Valley’s 17th district told “The Morning Show” Tuesday several of his recent prosecutions were political and unnecessary, including the cases against former President Donald Trump, ex-Marine Daniel Penny, who was acquitted in the subway killing of Jordan Neeley, and Jose Alba, the Harlem bodega clerk who was briefly charged with second degree murder after he was attacked in a dispute over chips…
Meanwhile, ABC News reported Manhattan prosecutors have begun presenting evidence to a grand jury, looking for an indictment against Luigi Mangione for the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO. Mangione is being held in Pennsylvania after being caught at McDonald’s when a customer recognized him and restaurant staff called the police.

Nyack Mourns Loss of Two Former Village Board Trustees
Services are being held this weekend for two former Nyack village board members who both passed away earlier this month. Former Nyack Trustee and Deputy Mayor Marie Lorenzini died December 5th. She served on the Nyack Planning and Zoning Boards before becoming a Village Trustee nearly twenty years ago. Services for her are being held tomorrow afternoon at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack, visitation is from 1–3 and funeral mass starts at 3pm. She was 82. Former Trustee and Deputy Mayor James Leiner died December 4th. He worked for O&R for 35 years, wrote for “The Nyack Villager” and served in the Nyack Fire Department, the Nyack Republican Club, and the Nyack Historical Society. Services for him are being held Sunday morning at Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack at 11. He was 79.
