No serious injuries after an accident involving an SUV and a school bus yesterday in New City. Clarkstown Police say a Clarkstown School bus was turning left at the intersection of Laurel Road and Glenside Drive when it was struck by an SUV. Police say preliminary reports indicate the SUV was speeding, causing it to veer off the roadway and strike a nearby house, causing extensive damage. Police say no one on the bus was hurt, but the SUV driver was treated at the scene for injuries. No word on any charges stemming from the incident.

Former Airmont Kosher Supermarket’s September Re-Opening Delayed Several Months
A new kosher supermarket that launched in Ramapo last year, but closed earlier this year, and was thought to be re-opening by the upcoming Jewish holidays, now won’t be re-opening until possibly December or January. Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht says “The Hive,” which took over the former Shop Rite in Airmont and was apparently having some financial challenges, is expected to team up under new management with Evergreen, another local Kosher supermarket…

NYS Police Charge 17 year-old with DWI, Vehicular Homicide After Fatal Accident in Sullivan County Sunday
An unidentified 17 year-old from Orange County has been charged with DWI and Vehicular Manslaughter as New York State Police are piecing together a tragic accident that left one dead and two others injured. State Police say 17 year-old Jack Braun died in the accident in the Town of Mamakating in Sullivan County early Sunday. His Minisink Valley High School classmate was driving when his Honda CR-V went down a steep embankment and overturned off Route 17, around 1:30am. Two other passengers were critically injured and taken to Westchester Medical Center. The driver faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault and DWI. State Police in Middletown want anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw the car before the crash to contact them at 845-344-5300.
