Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest and deadliest holiday travel times due to alcohol-impaired-driving crashes. That’s according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is running their annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” public awareness campaign. Recent NHTSA data shows that alcohol-related traffic fatalities made up 32% of all traffic deaths in 2022. That year there were 13,524 fatalities, that’s one every 39 minutes.
