The Superintendent of Rockland BOCES is stepping down to become the head of a school district upstate. In a letter sent to BOCES staff, Sarah Chauncey announced she is resigning at the end of June and heading about three hours north to the Northville Central School District in Fulton County. Chauncey has been the head of Rockland BOCES since July 2020.
Spring Valley Football Team Loses Former Player to Hit-and-Run Accident
The East Ramapo school district is mourning the loss of a former football player. Spring Valley High school’s head football coach Andrew Delva said on Twitter that Estive Bustos Cevallos died after a hit-and-run accident. Details of when and where the accident took place were not available. Cevallos played for the Tigers in 2016 and 2017. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
Village of Haverstraw Selects Developer for River Parcel Mixed Use Development Project

The property is at the end of Main Street near Allison Avenue by the Hudson River. The Village was also named as the recipient of a $10 million economic development grant from the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative back in November.
Nanuet Furniture Store Donates Beds to Area Charitable Group
A local charitable organization got some much-needed donations from an area furniture store following their recent renovation. Ashley Home Store’s Nanuet location recently donated several bed-sets to Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland.
