Three people reportedly suffered smoke inhalation injuries after a raging house fire in Wesley Hills early yesterday morning. More than a dozen Rockland fire and EMS companies responded to the blaze on Route 202 just south of Wilder Road. The house was completely destroyed, along with two cars. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Rockland Corrections Officers Settle Federal Lawsuit with County, Sheriff
Seven Rockland corrections officers who were fired from their jobs have settled a civil rights lawsuit against the county and Rockland’s Sheriff for about $3.5 million. That’s according to the Journal News, which reports the officers claimed they were forced out of their jobs because they supported a candidate running against the sheriff. In an interview with “The Morning Show” yesterday, Sheriff Lou Falco said a confidentiality clause prevented him from commenting on the case…
The federal lawsuit claimed Falco targeted officers who attended a campaign announcement for his opponent in the 2015 election.
