Though the Hudson Valley Boy Scouts have removed the “for sale” sign from Stony Point’s Camp Bullowa, the town’s supervisor is concerned they’re not out entirely out of the woods just yet. Stony Point Supervisor Jim Monaghan says while it’s a relief to know the property is no longer being considered for sale, he’d like to keep the property preserved as open space…
Two other camps in the Hudson Valley had been considered as part of a package with Bullowa. A property in Dutchess County is still available, but another in Putnam Valley will not be sold. The Boy Scouts of America organization needs to unload various properties to help pay nearly $2 billion in legal settlements with the Victims Compensation Trust stemming from thousands of lawsuits that led to the group’s bankruptcy deal.

A little more than a month after entering the race for governor, the state’s Attorney General has bowed out and decided to run again for her current job. Letitia James says she has unfinished business as A.G. and has opted to try to stay there. Despite leading in the polls, Governor Kathy Hochul said she would continue to treat the race as if she’s the underdog…
Speaking of unfinished business, governor Hochul said she’s concerned COVID numbers are heading the wrong direction…
And that was Dr. Mary Bassett, New York’s Health Commissioner. The number of Rocklanders hospitalized with COVID-19 has risen since Monday from 20 to 25. The number of deaths and active cases has remained the same, both at 1,002.

The Rockland Senior Club will be hearing from a state representative at today’s meeting at RCC. Club member Lou Morris says the group has lots they want to hear about from featured speaker Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick…
Morris says attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food to donate to the RCC food bank. The meeting is being held today at the RCC Tech Center at noon.

The Haverstraw Brick Museum is hosting a special event tomorrow that tells the story of brick-making, from automatic to robotics. Haverstraw supervisor Howard Phillips says it’s a unique look at the history that literally helped build North Rockland…
