On the other side of the county, the Village of Nyack, the Nyack Chamber of Commerce, and “Visit Nyack” are hosting a Holiday Promenade this weekend. Village Trustee Joe Rand says the celebration has so much going on, they’re shutting down traffic on Main Street and Broadway on Sunday to accommodate all the people they expect to participate…

The town of Stony Point’s planning board could be taking a vote on the preliminary site approval for a major condominium project planned for the waterfront. Supervisor Jim Monaghan says the project’s been scrutinized for years, changes have been made, and the board may be taking a vote to possibly move it forward tonight…

The Eagle Bay project consists of around 250 condos off Hudson Drive. The meeting is tonight at 7pm at the Rho Building on Clubhouse Lane in Stony Point.

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio was looking to implement a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for New York City employees, but that’s come to a halt, at least temporarily, thanks to a Rockland attorney. Host of “The Good Health Lawyer” here on WRCR, Patricia Finn of Nanuet, filed a lawsuit on behalf of all NYPD Officers. State Supreme Court Judge Frank Nervo suspended the mandate Tuesday. A hearing is scheduled for December 14th. Mayor de Blasio also announced a vaccine mandate for private sector workers, which was expected to take effect on December 27th.

Rockland’s Low Income Household Water Assistance Program is now accepting applications from low-income households that need help paying overdue water and wastewater bills. The program is funded with $69.8 million from the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan of 2021. Applicants could qualify for up to $5,000 in assistance.
