Orange and Rockland Utilities is looking to start a new, $52.6-million, two-year electric system construction project in the southwest section of Clarkstown that would improve electric service for about 45,000 O&R customers. O&R asked the state Public Service Commission last month to review the proposal. The project would put 5.5 miles of new electric transmission cable underground. The PSC’s public review process is expected to take a year to 18 months to complete.
