Rockland acting legend Arlene Dahl, has died. The actress, who had made Sparkill her weekend getaway home, starred in 1949’s “Reign of Terror” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth” in 1959…
That clip courtesy of 20th Century Fox. Dahl’s last acting credit came in 1999 for the TV show “Air America.” Her son, actor Lorenzo Lamas, called her a “force of nature” in social media tributes. She was 96 years old.

A North Carolina man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a fatal shooting in Nyack. 35-year-old Jason Jabouin had pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year. He shot Ryan Franklin of West Haverstraw on Midland Avenue in May 2020, following a confrontation.

The County Legislature’s Budget and Finance Committee is meeting tonight to potentially make some tweaks to the county executive’s 2022 budget proposal…
And that was Minority leader Legislator Lon Hofstein. The committee is expected to adopt the 2022 budget tonight at 6pm, with the full Legislature voting on them on Wednesday night.

A highly-traveled roadway from Orangetown to Clarkstown will remain shut down near the border of the two towns, possibly until the spring. The bridge on Western Highway between Pineview Road and Green Road is being replaced. Clarkstown supervisor George Hoehmann says the project hit supply chain issues and may not be done until April…
Orangetown supervisor Teresa Kenny says the roadway is a popular route for those traveling between West Nyack and Blauvelt, and the delays have become quite an inconvenience…
The Western Highway bridge was originally supposed to re-open in early January. Over in Ramapo, supervisor Michael Specht says the new College Road Thruway overpass re-opened last week, ahead of schedule…
The College Road bridge was the final portion of a $30.8 million infrastructure improvement project to replace three bridges in Ramapo. The Scotland Hill Road bridge opened November 1st, and the Hungry Hollow Road bridge was replaced and re-opened one year ago.

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio Monday “strongly recommended” every New Yorker, including fully-vaccinated people and those who have had the virus, should wear masks in all indoor public places due to the potential for the Omicron variant of COVID-19 to arrive. In a press conference yesterday, Governor Kathy Hochul said the situation is being closely monitored, and she fully expects it to arrive here…
Dr. Kirsten St. George is the Director of Virology at the New York Wadsworth Lab, and she says continuous monitoring of positive COVID specimens has not yet found any evidence of the new strain being in the country or the state…
The governor also says she’s concerned about the number of COVID hospitalizations trending up while the number of available hospital beds is going down.
