A controversial development slated for the Town of Ramapo is on tonight’s planning board agenda. The Pascack Ridge proposal calls for around 224 high-density housing units on nearly 30 acres between Rose Avenue, North Pascack Road, and Ewing Avenue on the Spring Valley-Clarkstown border…
And that was Ramapo supervisor Michael Specht. Tonight’s meeting is being held at Ramapo Town Hall at 7:30pm.

The town of Stony Point is holding a public hearing tonight on next year’s budget. Supervisor Jim Monaghan says now that the proposal to take over the golf course and Letchworth Village property has been turned down, they’ve got to make some changes in next year’s budget…
Monaghan says the town will likely have to take out a bond to help handle those repairs. Tonight’s meeting is at 7pm at the Rho Building.

An administrator in the Clarkstown Central School District has been made president of the School Administrators Association of New York State. Clarkstown High School North principal, Dr. Harry Leonardatos, will serve through October 2022. Dr. Leonardatos has spent the last 20 years in educational administration, serving Clarkstown since 2003. The association represents nearly 8,000 school administrators, supervisors, and coordinators throughout the state.

A Clarkstown volunteer firefighter injured during a house fire last week continues to recuperate at Westchester Medical Center. Rockland’s director of fire and emergency services Chris Kear says 24 year-old Valley Cottage Fire Department volunteer Ryan Ebner has been intubated and sedated since last Monday…
A fundraiser has been set up to help with Ebner’s medical expenses. The fundraiser thus far has brought in around $60,000.

The head of the Rockland Business Association is hoping last week’s rejection of a deal to sell the Stony Point golf course and Letchworth Village property to a local developer won’t stop others from looking at Rockland for future investments. RBA CEO Al Samuels says the deal was a missed opportunity…
Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan laments that the failure to approve the deal also eliminates the many repairs and new construction that would have been done to the property…
The project was defeated by just 118 votes.
