Tensions Increase in Middle East as U.S. Preps Another Weapons Shipment to Israel

The U.S. yesterday approved $20 billion in weapons sales to Israel, as tensions continue to mount in the region, with some expecting an imminent attack. The weapons, however, according to CBS News, which include scores of fighter jets and advanced air-to-air missiles, won’t be delivered to Israel until 2026 at the earliest. Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler of the Hudson Valley’s 17th district told “The Morning Show” yesterday he’s gravely concerned about what Iran might do, and calls the situation, “precarious”…

The U.S., Egypt and Qatar are expected to open cease-fire talks tomorrow, though a Hamas representative reportedly told CBS News they would not be attending, though they would continue with negotiations.

“National Night Out” Comes to Clover Stadium in Pomona Today

The Boulders are hosting the 6th annual National Night Out at Clover Stadium today. Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco says it’s a chance to get up close to county emergency services professionals in a fun and family-friendly way, and learn more about what they do…

The event starts at 3pm this afternoon, the kids can check out the various emergency vehicles, there’s a bounce house, search and rescue helicopter, face-painting and more. There’s also a parade prior to the game at 6:30.

The New York Boulders opened a three-game home stand against the Ottawa Titans at Clover Stadium in Pomona yesterday in a battle for second place in the Eastern Division. The Boulders were down 2-0 in the fifth with center fielder David Vinsky at the plate, looking for the Boulders’ first run…

And that was Nico Rodriguez with the call on the Boulders Broadcast Network. The Boulders only managed three hits, getting shut out, 6-0. The Boulders stand alone in 3rd place in the Eastern Division, a game behind the second-place Titans and 9 ½ behind Quebec. Books, movies, magazines, and fresh fruits and vegetables — you can get all that and more today thanks to the weekly Farm Stand at the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley. Maria Vanessa Cipolla is the library’s Head of Public Relations, and she says it’s great when visitors to the library come in to pick up a novel or a DVD, and also walk away with healthy, seasonal food items…

Various Rockland agencies and other organizations also participate, including Bridges, The Center for Safety and Change, The Department of Health, and others. The Farm Stand operates outside the Finkelstein library’s front entrance every Wednesday from 10am to 4:30 through November, weather-permitting.
