Rockland Highway Superintendent Warns Morning Drivers to Stay Home if They Can, Afternoon and Evening Conditions Should Improve
Not much snow fell overnight but we got plenty of sleet resulting in icy road conditions, particularly on the secondary and side roads. Rockland Highway Superintendent Skip Vezetti says the combination of snow and sleet is making for icy road conditions that the state, county and local highway departments are taking care of, but he adds that for now, if you can avoid driving you should do so…
Vezetti says if you do have to go somewhere take it nice and slow, and give the plows and salt trucks plenty of room to operate.

Former Congressional Candidate Throws Hat into Ring to Try Again
A former Congressional candidate is looking to make a second run at Congress this fall. Mike Parietti ran two years ago on the Preserve Ramapo party line, but says he’s looking to get the Democratic party nod for the 17th district this year…
Parietti says among his priorities, offer tax relief for homeowners and senior citizens, and protect and improve public schools. Parrietti is one of the principal organizers of Preserve Ramapo and Preserve Rockland, he’s run for office on the town and county level, and is currently a seven-year member of the Rockland County Planning Board. Incumbent congressman Mondaire Jones represents the district and is in his first term. He won office after Nita Lowey retired in 2020.
