It’s not clear when paroled Brink’s killer David Gilbert will get out of prison or where he’ll go after that, but local officials don’t want him here and would prefer he remain behind bars. Gilbert was granted clemency by former governor Andrew Cuomo just before he resigned, and the parole board gave him his freedom last month, after serving about 40 years of his 75 year-to-life sentence. Rockland Assemblyman Mike Lawler has called for the parole board to resign. Sergeant Edward O’Grady, Officer Waverly ‘Chipper’ Brown and Brinks guard Peter Paige were killed in the heist from the former Nanuet Mall 40 years ago. Gilbert is expected to be released before November 30th.
