The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County is hosting a special presentation tomorrow as part of its 2022 Annual Campaign Launch and Celebration. The online event is being held with the heads of the Haverstraw African American Connection and Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education, and they’ll discuss their “Better Together” initiative. The discussion will focus on how the organizations are working to bridge the gap between their communities. One Killed in Helicopter Crash In Cornwall
One was killed yesterday in a helicopter crash near Storm King Mountain in the town of Cornwall. New York State Police had no other information on any other victims or the cause of the crash and were working with state and local fire departments and forest rangers at the scene.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Letitia James announced Wednesday Rockland and other Hudson Valley counties will get millions to help combat the opioid crisis thanks to litigation that’s been settled with various opioid manufacturers and distributors. James said, so far, Rockland will be getting between 2.5 to 4.5 million dollars to invest in opioid prevention, treatment, and recovery programs.
Motorist Hospitalized After Hammer Crashes Through Window on Thruway in Chestnut Ridge
A motorist was reportedly taken to Westchester Medical Center early Sunday morning after a hammer came crashing through the window of a car traveling on the state Thruway. News 12 says State Police reported the incident happened around 2:20 Sunday morning near the Scotland Hill Road overpass in Chestnut Ridge where an ongoing bridge replacement project is nearing completion.
