The village of Airmont is holding a public hearing on the potential to become host to a Battery Energy Storage System. RWE Solar Development LLC is looking to build it to supplement the O&R electric grid. Former Airmont mayor and village resident Ralph Bracco says he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for that area…
The project is targeting 375 Route 59, near College Road and New County Road. The public hearing was slated for tonight’s Zoning Board of Appeals meeting at village hall, but we’ve gotten word that it’s been postponed. We’ll have more information as soon as it is available.

Cuomo’s resignation goes into effect in 14 days, his last day in office will be August 24th. The various inquiries into the nursing home controversy, his book deal and use of state employees to help produce it, remain active.

Rockland State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick told CNN he thinks the other investigations into the governor should continue, and he believes Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul is more than qualified to take over. Rockland Assemblyman Mike Lawler said Cuomo’s resignation was long overdue…
Hochul agreed with Cuomo’s decision to step down, calling it the right thing to do and in the best interest of New Yorkers. She said she is prepared to lead as New York State’s 57th Governor.
