The Biden administration last week extended Temporary Protected Status for Haitian nationals through February 2023. The move follows last month’s assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. Eligible Haitian nationals who have been in the U.S. since July 29th can apply or reapply to live in the country for 18 months under TPS. The Department of Homeland Security gives TPS to people from certain nations who have seen violence, corruption or environmental disasters.
