Erie County, about a 6-hour drive from Rockland, is the new home for one of the two men convicted of the October 1980 killing of Pearl River’s Paula Bohovesky. The Journal News reports 66 year-old Richard LaBarbera was released yesterday, but the state Department of Correction and Supervision would not say specifically where. Orangetown supervisor Chris Day told “The Morning Show” last week that he and Bohovesky supporters are concerned he could kill again…
Paula’s mother, who still lives in Pearl River, and her attorneys, John McGowan and Dennis Lynch, were able to convince the state not to release LaBarbera in nearby Peekskill, as was originally planned. Robert McCain was denied parole last month. He becomes eligible for parole again in June 2021.
