12:22pm: Correction – an earlier version of this story indicated the Boulders won. They did not. They lost.
The New York Boulders lost to the TriCity ValleyCats 2-1 at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy last night. The Boulders return home this afternoon to start a four-game series with the New Jersey Jackals, the first end of a doubleheader starts at 4:30pm. The second game can be heard at 7pm right here on AM 1700 WRCR and WRCR.com at 7pm, right after The DooWop Dream Machine.
If you were hoping to see Boulders shortstop Austin Dennis play, guess again, he’s been picked up by the Kansas City Royals. In just nine Frontier League games this season, the 24 year-old is hitting .375 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs. Dennis has been assigned to the Royals’ training facility in Surprise, AZ.
