Another convicted Brink’s killer wants out of jail. The Journal News says David Gilbert wants early release from his life sentence for his role in the 1981 armored car robbery. Two Nyack police officers and a security guard were killed in that incident. The now 76 year-old Gilbert was a 1960s revolutionary with the Weather Underground and other radical groups. He’s serving 75 years to life for the murders of Sgt. Edward O’Grady, officer Waverly “Chipper” Brown and security guard Peter Paige. Katherine Boudin was paroled in 2003, while Judith Clark got parole in 2019. Gilbert’s supporters say he should get out because he was just a unarmed getaway driver and has been a model prisoner ever since.
