A Bronx man will spend the next four years in state prison after pleading guilty to injuring three people in a drunken and drugged driving crash on Route 59 last year. Acting Rockland County District Attorney Kevin Gilleece says 42 year-old Rohan Brijlall pleaded guilty to second degree assault. He was driving a Land Rover east on Route 59 and Old Nyack Turnpike in Nanuet when he tried to pass another vehicle in the left lane from the right and merged back into the center lane at around 60 miles per hour. He crashed into cars that were already stopped in the center lane due to an unrelated traffic accident. The first car he crashed into was pushed into the victims, who were out of their cars exchanging information. One victim’s leg was amputated, another suffered a broken leg and the third suffered a fractured collar bone and other injuries. Cocaine and alcohol were found in Brijlall’s blood.
