Cash toll collections on the Thruway returned as of midnight. The Thruway Authority says plexiglass-protected booths and mask-wearing collectors are handling cash transactions, which had been suspended in many areas due to the coronavirus. Non-E-ZPass customers who traveled the Thruway’s ticketed-system between March 22nd and yesterday will get a single bill in the mail. The TA says those with E-ZPass will still be able to have contactless travel and payment at all tolling locations. The entire Thruway is expected to change to cashless tolling by the end of the year.
