Clarkstown Police say Route 59 in Nanuet from Forman Drive to Old Turnpike Road is closed after an accident took out several utility poles. That’s right by the commuter parking lot near the Spring Valley Marketplace. Orange and Rockland is on scene, and they say repairs could be complete by late afternoon.

Crash In Pearl River Partially Closes Middletown Road Thursday Evening, Injuries Unknown
Orangetown Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward with information after a crash yesterday evening partially shut Middletown Road in Pearl River for hours. The collision occurred just north of Crooked Hill Road, closing the Nanuet exit off Route 304. No word on injuries at this time. Anyone with information should call Orangetown Police at 845-359-3700.
Students at SVSHS Back to At-home Learning After Mold Found in Several Classrooms
Hazardous material, reportedly black mold, was found in several classrooms and has led to the shutdown of an East Ramapo High School for at least the rest of the week. In a note to parents, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Clarence Ellis, said that means students at Spring Valley High School are back to at-home learning for now. It’s not known in which classrooms the material was found. The move also forced the rescheduling of the PSATs and SATs. The district said they would provide additional details on meal distribution, co-curricular activities, and athletic events.
Ten year-old Boy Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 304 in Nanuet
Several were taken to area hospitals last night, and one was killed, after a two-vehicle crash in Nanuet. Clarkstown Police Detective Norman Peters says the accident involved a Toyota Sienna minivan and a Ford F-150 pickup truck, and occurred around 6:15 at the intersection of Route 304 and West Nyack Road…
Police say a ten year-old boy, a passenger in the minivan, died of his injuries at the hospital, his identity is being withheld as his family is still being notified. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. If you saw the accident, call Clarkstown Police at 845-639-5800.
[UPDATE] Orangetown Police Investigating Fatal Accident Monday Night on Route 304
[UPDATE 11:51AM] Orangetown Police say 25 year-old Christopher Taussi of New City died after he crashed his motorcycle into a guardrail in Pearl River. Police say he was heading north at 10:45 p.m. when the crash occurred on Route 304 near Hillside Avenue.
[Earlier] The northbound lanes of Route 304 near Hillside Avenue in Pearl River have been re-opened. There was a collision there earlier that closed the road for an accident investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident should contact the Orangetown Police at 845-359-3700.
