Investigators from the county, state and the federal government raided Spring Valley Village Hall yesterday afternoon, reportedly in connection with the fatal fire at a local adult home that killed one resident and a volunteer firefighter last March. Published reports said documents connected to the fire at Evergreen Court may be fraudulent. Speculation has centered on an automatic alarm at the adult home, that was perhaps faulty or intentionally disconnected at the time of the blaze, and questions have been raised over water pressure at nearby fire hydrants. We reached out to the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, but we did not hear back. Columbian Fire Engine Company Number One firefighter Jared Lloyd died fighting the fire.
