The man killed in a single car crash early Sunday morning in Nanuet is believed to have driven the wrong way on Route 304 before plunging off an overpass to the street below. Clarkstown Police say the Ford Mustang was found overturned near the median in the eastbound lanes of Route 59. They say the driver, 25 year-old Michael Magee had been traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on Route 304 for more than two miles, jumping a guardrail and down onto Route 59. The Clarkstown Police Accident Investigation Team has not definitively determined any contributing factors at this time. Hi Tor Presents County with $476K for New Facility in Pomona
The Hi Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona has given the county two checks totaling nearly half a million dollars to go towards the construction of a desperately needed new facility. Heavy Rain in Orangeburg Floods Route 303, Several Homes
Heavy rains pounded Route 303 yesterday afternoon in Orangetown, and several people had to be rescued from their cars after getting trapped in the rising waters. Patch.com says the Orangeburg Fire Department and Piermont Fire Department divers were called out to get the occupants of four cars to safety. News 12 says three homes on Isabel Road were flooded, one of them partially collapsed, leaving the homeowner in the Red Cross’ care overnight.
